Plowing the Way I have been trying to photograph the stars in Wyoming for some time now. However, in the past couple of years either the moon, clouds, or smoke have prevented the endeavor. This year I had an opportunity to give it a go. This image was created with a single 30 sec exposure at 11 mm, f/4, and ISO 2500. In oder to light the tractor, I used my iPhone to spot light the tires and the rear side. Each burst of light was about a half second each. I think this shot had 6 different bursts at different spots. -BP-
Full disclosure here: This is a blend of two different images. This is the look I was TRYING to get, but the Milky Way was in the wrong position. Thus, I blended two images in Photoshop. It was just for a little fun. -BP-
I was out late on my last night in Pinedale and was determined to finally shoot the Milky Way, something I've been wanting to do for years. I drove out into the middle of nowhere, which was about 30 miles outside of town up by the Green River. It was so incredibly quiet out there. I love it. Anyway, the Mily Way was positioned to the South over the Big Piney area and portiones of the gas field, which caused an orange glow over the hills and there were also some clouds in the area. I still like the look. It looks to me like a portal opening. -BP-
